Welcome to HealThy Self, I’m Hannah!

My mission is to help you build a balanced lifestyle one step at a time through healthy and simple recipes, exercises that you enjoy, and a whole lot of adventure!

My Story

My relationship with food was not love at first bite. It all started with a diet that led me to a not-so-great relationship with food and myself. 

Growing up, I was always that kid who was just a little bit bigger than everyone else my age, and it bothered me. The pressure to be “skinny” was real. That pressure turned food into my enemy, leading me down a road of self-destruction. I yo-yo dieted, excessively exercised, and developed an eating disorder in the midst of it all.

After years of struggling and feeling stuck, I decided it was time for a major shift in mindset. I craved a healthier approach to food, one that wasn’t about deprivation but exploration and enjoyment.

That’s where my Instagram, @healthyself.fit, came in. It became my personal kitchen lab, a place to learn, experiment with delicious recipes, and eventually, to connect with others who were tired of the struggle too. When I started helping others break free from unhealthy habits, that’s when I truly started to see a difference in myself too.

Seeing the impact I could have on others fueled a fire in me. My own experiences with food and fitness pushed me to become a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach while also pursuing a career as a registered dietitian nutritionist (graduation coming May 2024!). 

Here at Heal.Thy.Self, I’m all about building realistic, sustainable habits that fit into your life, not the other way around. Let’s ditch the food wars and create a healthy relationship with ourselves and the delicious food that fuels us.
