This red, white, and blue oatmeal is a delicious, healthy, and perfect way to start off your Independence Day! It combines steel cut oats with almond milk and is topped with fresh raspberries, blueberries, Greek yogurt, and flax seeds.  

Fun facts about the ingredients:

STEEL-CUT OATS: High in beta glucan, a soluble fiber which helps with proper digestion. They are also a great source of plant protein, which is great for those who are vegan or vegetarian!

RASPBERRIES: Contains antioxidant and phytonutrient properties which may help lower the risk of cancer. Raspberries are also a wonderful source of fiber, containing 8 grams per every 1 cup.

BLUEBERRIES: Loaded with antioxidants, potassium, and vitamin C! They also have anti-inflammatory properties.

Red White and Blue Oatmeal

This red, white, and blue oatmeal is a delicious, healthy, and perfect way to start off your Independence Day! It combines steel cut oats with almond milk and is topped with fresh raspberries, blueberries, Greek yogurt, and flax seeds.  

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup steel cut oats
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1/2 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp ground flax seeds
  • 1/4 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1/4 cup fresh blueberries
  • *optional: extra raspberries, blueberries, and Greek yogurt for topping 

Instructions

  1. Add oats and almond milk to a pot and simmer on medium-low for about 10 minutes.
  2. Transfer cooked oats to a bowl and add remaining ingredients as toppings. Enjoy!
  3. all ingredients except for the blueberries to a blender and blend until smooth.

     

    Recipe Notes

    1. Top with extra raspberries, blueberries, and Greek yogurt!
